What Are Some Best Practices for Running Web-based Courses?

We offer the following tips for success with our web-based courses:

  • Find a quiet place without distractions
  • Have a notebook and pencil handy to work out problems
  • Wear headphones when running courses
  • Don’t hesitate to ask for help from your tutor if you get stuck!
  • Our web-based Precalculus and grammar courses require updated Java and Adobe Flash plugins
  • Occasionally, your Java and/or browser cache may become corrupted, which may cause problems such as sessions not recording properly. The solution for this is to empty your web browser and Java caches.
  • When more than one student is running our courses on the same computer, we recommend having each student use a different browser to avoid the need for frequent clearing of caches
